About Us

" we work hard to give our community our very best no matter the circumstance"...

Chief Brian Bennett

Being formed in late 1984, Preston Fire was the last fire department formed in Hickory County.  Before the fire department was formed, members of the community belonged to other fire and rescue organizations but still felt the calling for the Village to have a fire department of their own.  Over the last 38 years the fire department has grown leaps and bounds versus what it started out to be.  Older member have come and gone and the new younger generation is currently at the helm, pushing forward but keeping with past mindset of community involvement.  With advice still being given from the first forming members, Preston Fire has now grown to have a sum of 65 volunteers all encompassing different duties within the department.  Todays fire department has something for all ages to volunteer with, no project is looked down on as not as important as the next.  It takes all of us to be involved.
